If the BMI varies between 25 kg/m2 and 30 kg/m2 then it is termed as pre-obese condition and if it exceeds 30 kg/m2 results in obesity. There are several factors such as intake of excessive dietary calories, lack of physical inactivity and genetic susceptibility which are responsible for the occurrence of obesity.
